Social distancing, also called "physical distancing," means to keep space between yourself and other people outside of your home. COVID-19 spreads mainly among people who are in close contact for a prolonged period of time. Spread happens when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks, and droplets from their mouth or nose are launched into the air and lands in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby. The best way to reduce this risk is to stay at least 6 feet away from other people, and to wear a facemask.
The CDC has found that a significant portion of individuals with coronavirus lack symptoms (asymptomatic) and that even those who eventually develop symptoms (pre-symptomatic) can transmit the virus to others before showing symptoms. The means that the virus can spread people people interacting in close proximity--for example, speaking, coughing, or sneezing--even if those people are not exhibiting symptoms. This is a recommendation in addition to maintaining 6-feet social distancing.
Nemak is implementing extraordinary measures to ensure the health and safety of all employees, including social distancing wherever possible. When job responsibilities do not allow for the required 6 feet of social distancing, Nemak will require a facemask to be worn. At some facilities, Nemak will require all employees to wear facemasks, regardless of social distancing.
Nemak is implementing extraordinary measures to ensure the health and safety of all employees. This will begin at the entry of every facility with daily screenings to check for symptoms or possible exposure. Inside the facilities, there are requirements for facemasks, adjustments to ensure social distancing, additional disinfection and cleaning done throughout each shift. Nemak leadership is constantly monitoring the situation to ensure the highest level of health and safety for our employees
