Nemak to support COVID-19 contingency measures with 3D printing technology

Since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak earlier this year, Nemak has worked closely with its stakeholders in all regions—including citizen groups and non-profit organizations—in order to identify and support additional measures to minimize the transmission of the virus.

To this end, Nemak has joined the “México unido contra el COVID-19” (Mexico United Against COVID-19) initiative, using state-of-the-art 3D printing technology at its Product Development Center in Monterrey to produce splitters, which can help improve ventilator capacity in local hospitals.

“We are acting in solidarity with communities to help safeguard the lives of those who may be affected by the virus. Nemak is committed to implementing and supporting measures and initiatives which help deal with the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Armando Tamez, Nemak’s CEO.

These efforts aim to bring together a variety of social actors focused on providing public and private healthcare providers alike with as many tools as possible to face the crisis triggered by the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

Additionally, Nemak has donated protective equipment for medical personnel in several regions where it operates.
