The process selected is matched to the customer’s needs, driven by part design and material properties requirements. With the strongest casting know-how and machining expertise in the industry, Nemak has the ability to quickly support any of its customers.
· The Semi-Permanent Molding (SPM) technologies for cylinder heads include Gravity, Direct Pouring, Low Pressure, Dynamic Tilt and Rotacast for specific cylinder head applications or metallurgical properties.
· The main technologies utilized for manufacturing cylinder blocks are Nemak’s patented Low Pressure Precision Sand (NLPPS), Cosworth and High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC).
We have met the strict engineering specifications for diesel and gasoline engine applications that include tight dimensional tolerances and high mechanical properties through our diverse production processes.
Furthermore, we have developed the ability to manufacture complex cores for thin-wall applications, intake port cast-in vortex capability and composite cores among other innovative processes that contribute to maintain our technological leadership as competitive advantage.
